Glam Slam Classique Large

The Glam Slam cross-body bag in quilted sanded couch leather — a domestic upholstery material brought into a fashion context as an expression of Maison Margiela's ongoing dialogue with interiors. The distressed, mottled surface is drawn over a generously padded body, with visible button tufts across the front. The top closes with a zip and carries our four stitches; the opposite of a label. Finished with a wide adjustable flat leather shoulder strap.

Interiors: Since the 1990s, interior fabrics and decorative surfaces have been reappropriated as unexpected materials of dressmaking. Removed from their original context, familiar domestic references are transformed through clothing and accessories.
