The 5AC East West, crafted from goat leather, takes Maison Margiela’s signature 5AC handbag and infuses an Informal Formality mood. It is accented with the logo label at the front. The iconic 5AC line takes its name from the French word ‘sac’ (bag). The East West variation is the latest addition of subverted modern classics, revisited in an elongated size with more volume. Modelled on a men’s briefcase, with a horizontal shape that inspired its name, the bag can be worn by hand, over the shoulder or crossbody. The style continues to explore the Maison’s Anonymity of the lining concept to reveal its internal structure.
