Slashed Velvet Floral Maxi Dress

Floor-length sleeveless dress created with aged tapestry patches. Panels of cut velvet are pre-washed to achieve a vintage look, then carefully shaped to follow the complex drape of the dress. Below the hip, the skirt shifts to a printed floral ground, inspired by vintage interiors. Our four white stitches appear at the back; the opposite of a label.

Interiors: Since the 1990s, interior fabrics and decorative surfaces have been reappropriated as unexpected materials of dressmaking. Removed from their original context, familiar domestic references are transformed through clothing and accessories.
