Spring Summer 2027 Show

We present a study into the concepts of HARD and SOFT, both essential elements in the design and construction of garments and accessories. In this collection, hardness is added to archetypal garments, creating fresh possibilities for silhouette; tailoring has new structural elements; draping is given novel foundations from which to flow. Our research is rooted in the traditions of Parisian ateliers, which are separated between Tailoring, responsible for harder structural garments, and Flou, for dressmaking and draping. Here, we reappropriate the couture practices of Tailoring and Flou for this Maison Margiela ready-to-wear show. Indeed, our mission from the beginning has been the radical rereading of fashion’s history, as well as the systems grounding it.
