In a fusion of menswear tailoring and vintage femininity, this spliced dress plays with expectation and layering. Fragments of classic garments – tailored trousers, a bowling shirt, and a 1940s silk dress – are meticulously stitched together by hand. The result is both precise and unruly, true to Maison Margiela’s deconstructive ethos. Maison Margiela’s signature, the four stitches, appear at the back; the opposite of a label.
