Assemblage Silk Print Shirt

Long-sleeve shirt in geometric foulard-print silk with an open collar and button front. A pre-styled composition of a poplin shirt and a wool tailored gilet bonded together with printed silk twill on the front. The bonding is slashed to reveal details of the underlying garments, creating a 3D effect, while the back remains unbonded, exposing the lining. Our four white stitches appear at the back; the opposite of a label.

Assemblage: Disparate materials, garments and references are brought together to form a new composition. Their original identities remain visible within the finished object. The resulting tension between elements becomes part of the design.
